About our Club

The Zonta Club of Waverley was chartered in October 1978.

Meetings

Members meet for Dinner on the first Thursday of each month (except January) at The Gateway Motel, 630 Blackburn Road, Notting Hill at 6.30 for 7pm.

Guest speakers address the Club on a variety of topics of interest to members, and relevant to Zonta's objectives. Past speakers have included members of parliament, medical professionals and representatives from groups pertaining to women's health and well-being, representatives from prominent welfare groups such as families in crisis and motivational speakers who encourage members to improve their lives, both professionally and personally.

Groups seeking our support will also address us to explain their needs. From time to time, Zontians in official positions will report on Zonta activities at an Area, District, or International level.

If you wish to attend a meeting, please email us (info@zontawaverley.org) by the Monday before.

The Board

The Board is made up of the President, Vice President, President Elect, Treasurer, Minute Secretary, Correspondence Secretary and three Directors.

All members are encouraged to stand for an elected position and be a part of this decision-making body. All issues affecting members are presented to the monthly meeting.

All members belong to a committee set up to plan and initiate ideas and programs for the club. Current committees are: Status of Women, Fundraising, Service and Environment, Fellowship and Membership, Program and Communications, and Archivist.
